Rapid Notify, Inc. announced today that it has been selected by the Guernsey County Emergency Management Agency in Cambridge, Ohio to provide mass notification services. The Rapid Notify system enables Guernsey County public safety officials to contact over 40,000 area residents in the event of an extreme emergency situation.
The Guernsey County Emergency Management Agency utilizes a program of outreach, coordination, planning, training, and exercising for all hazards and for all four phases of emergency management, including mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery.
Emergency managers will now be able to send critical messages regarding severe weather, police activity, fires, and other emergency situations to residents and businesses instantly across multiple communication channels including cell phones, home phones, email, and text messages. Through a new integrated online self-registration portal, Guernsey County residents can now register their contact information, indicate their preferences for notification, and select a secure login enabling them to return and update contact details as often as needed.
“Rapid Notify provides us with the advanced communication tools we need to communicate quickly and easily with our staff, first-responders, and citizens,” said Gerry Beckner, emergency management director for Guernsey County Emergency Management Agency. “The system enables us to prepare messages for use before, during and after events which frees up valuable resources in the event of an emergency situation.”
“We are excited to provide Guernsey County Emergency Management Agency with a powerful system to effectively communicate life-saving information,” said Steve Sipe, president of Rapid Notify. “We have more than twenty five years of experience and expertise in supporting the communications needs of local, state and federal agencies.”
